Where the wild things are

My best friend from high school, Shelley and her husband Nicky were celebrating their 11th anniversary this weekend. We were delighted when they decided to come to Montgomery with their two PRECIOUS little girls to spend time with us at the zoo! We had a fabulous time with them Saturday! It was supposed to be "storming" as Rich Thomas our weather man warned. It sprinkled on us 1 time and there was hardly anybody at the zoo except for us and 5 other people. Can you believe that??!!!

We felt like we had rented the whole zoo out for ourselves, what fun we had! We saw many animals and Anderson LOVED the animals, he really got excited about the giraffes and the monkeys. This young man was also thrilled with the python! I on the other hand was not. Oh well, if I'm gonna be a boys momma I've got to quit saying "ewwww yucky snakes"! But secretly I still think they are yucky!

We had such a fun day and can't wait to take Anderson back!

Rain Rain Go Away...

It's been really doing alot of this at our house.

And when you have an 11 month old, you want beautiful weather so that he can go outside and play and play.

We have been doing alot of this and I just betcha pretty soon, this young man will be walking all over. He's getting so strong with his steps!

Please stop growing so fast, Mr. Anderson! Yesterday, you were 11 months old and next month... I don't even want to think that our little baby, will be a big one year old! This month, you have started wanting to walk everywhere (walk with us holding your hands). You are not satisfied if we carry you too much. You are a big boy and refer to the dogs as "tut" who knows about that one?!!You have gotten 3 new teeth this month alone! 7 in all! You LOVE music and you hum with us when we sing! What a blessing you are to your momma and daddy!

Anderson you are the greatest joy in our lives and we love you VERY much!

2,190 days...

2,190 days...that is the equivalent of 6 wonderful years of marriage that I have spent with my husband! On the day that I married him in 2003, there were several things that went wrong before our wedding ceremony. My sister, Jana's dress wouldn't fit, Adam's friend Jason passed out during the Lord's Prayer, and my daddy broke his foot and had to limp down the aisle while he escorted me. But, I married my best friend, the LOVE of my life and my other half. These are all cliques, but they are all true. I would be LOST without Adam, he is the person that makes me sane, he is the person who I can tell anything to and he STILL loves me, and he is my heart and soul. He is the best friend, husband and father to Anderson that I could ask for! I LOVE you!

Here's to 60 more years of marriage!

I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you...

I don't know about you, but I LOVED this man. He was my hero, my happiness at the end of a long day in school and my friend and neighbor. He loved me just the way I was! As a little girl, I watched him religiously. When my momma would arrive at daycare to pick me up, I would tell her "be quiet, Mr. Rogers is on". She would eventually have to sit down and watch with me.

I was thinking about him today and how I used to love him so much and thought I should buy Anderson a dvd of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. I think he would like it. There was Henrietta, King Friday, Owl and others???Oh, who were they? Do you remember?

As a history teacher, I am always interested in the history behind things. For example, did you know that Mr. Rogers Neighborhood ran for 32 years!!!!! This is longer than most people work at one job! Did you also know that he was an ordained minster? Sadly, he passed away in 2003 and hundreds of thousands of children WILL NEVER know about how wonderful this man was.

That is why I will let Anderson experience Mr. Rogers as I once did. I mean the Wiggles are great, but hey, they aren't Mr. Rogers Neighborhood!!!

A nice spring walk and the big red car

You know that song "Big red car" by the Wiggles? Anderson adores the Wiggles and we sing along every time that song is on! I laugh every time I see him in this car that Ms. Sherri bought him, because it reminds me so much of that song! Oh! How he loves his big red car!

Since I have a husband who is at home again(yipppeee skippeee) we have been taking afternoon walks with Anderson, Annabelle and Gus(our beagles). These walks are SOOOO delightful! Spring is one of my favorite times of the year, the weather is beautiful, not too hot, not too cold. The leaves on the trees are just coming back . They are beautiful and green, and flowers are beginning to bloom again.

Guess what! We have a young man who will soon have 7, yes you read correctly 7 teeth! Although he acts like he is absolutely gagging on regular table food and will throw up periodically. He has been an ill pot at night. Waking at various times, and staying up. You know what though...I wouldn't have it any other way, he's healthy and happy and that in itself is such a blessing!!!

The Shoe Dilemma

Since Anderson is fast approaching one, we have been having the shoe dilemma. Some doctors tell you that children need shoes to help them walk. Anderson's doctor says go barefoot. I, myself, don't think he should wear shoes for a while. Seriously, he will be wearing shoes for the next 100 years of his life, so why wear them now? Although, his grandparents did get him some cute new shoes, he is going to wear them soon! What do you think about babies and shoes?

Week in Review

Our young man went to the doctor today. He ran a fever of 102 Sunday night and hasn't eaten well this whole week. Yesterday, he woke up very conjested and coughing and threw up today at Mrs. Sherri's house twice! She she brought him to the high school to drop him off, he had on nothing but a diaper and his fleece jacket!! He had thrown up on his clothes and she changed him and threw up again and she had nothing so....one of the secretaries in the office gave us a Prattville Tennis shirt and that's what he wore to the doctor.

I was so embarrased, I just knew at any minute DHR would come and pick me up for his attire... I kept explaining it over and over to everyone I saw.

On American Idol who do you like? I LOVE Adam Lambert, I think he's the best one! Who do you like?

Mrs. Sherri and I went to a children's consignment sale yesterday and I got Anderson this:

Under the Big Top

Our young man's one year birthday is nearing. I have decided to go with my friend Becky's idea and a circus theme for Anderson's party. I need ideas, cause I am SOOO uninspiring when it comes to creativity. I know what to do for invitations and cake but everything else?! Dunno...

This weekend, I am helping to throw my SIL, Kelly a baby shower. Their baby, Aaden, is due on May 28. Adam, Anderson and I will be in Dothan. I think I will stop by Darby's garage sell. Come see us if you're in town! Don't get too close though, I have strep throat, AGAIN!!

Snowy March Day

Today is March 1. You'd never know it though! Anderson and I woke up at 5:22a.m. to snow flurries!! It was beautiful, strange, but beautiful! We ran outside to see the snow, Anderson didn't even seem to really notice though. We woke up Adam and took pictures in the winter wonderland. It snowed all morning and in all, about an inch or so.

Anderson's grandparents were here and we drove (in the snow)over to Bass Pro Shop in Prattville and had lunch. We had a good day!
