MMMM My Sharona!

Hello friends!

I have no idea why I put "My Sharona" as the title of the blog...just couldn't think of anything else to put. And I was singing it in Wal-Mart today while Anderson and I were shopping and he kept wanting to know who sang it. I couldn't think of it and THEN I remembered it was The Knack! Important stuff people...important stuff I tell ya! ;)
So, Mom left on Friday and we hated to see her go. Before she left we went to the bookstore at the mall to get some free reading in and to the playground to burn off some energy. Then to Dallas Thursday night to meet my cousin Meghan, who is about to have a baby in 12 days give take a few. Can you see all of A's animals in the picture. We NEVER go anywhere without animals, it would be melt down city! She stole our next baby name ;) Guess that doesn't count unless your pregnant and stuff... He will be called Bennett! And yes, when we have another child and if it's a boy, he will be Bennett too! We met her and her husband at Gloria's Mexican/El Salvadorian food in Uptown Dallas and it was SO FABULOUS! Not so fabulous that we really shrugged off our diet, but you get the picture.

Speaking of diet...I'm still going down in pounds! Weight Watchers is definitely the way to go. It's slow going, but it works. I'm soooo excited that we are losing weight and feeling better and better! I think when I'm pretty close to goal I'll let you know and post a before and after picture!

Can you believe that tomorrow is March 1? Craziness! Hurry up Spring and get here!!!

Botanical Gardens

Hello friends!

Mom is here! We picked her up Sunday afternoon at the airport. Today, we headed over to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. I absolutely adore Spring and all that comes with it. The buds on the trees. The new flowers that come up. And the chance for Anderson to get to play outside and be a boy. I think being outside for kids is the best toy in the world!!We had a picnic! Yay for us for continuing to stay on Weight Watchers!! I have lost 9 pounds so far!! And Adam and Mom have lost too!

Of course, Anderson wanted to go see where the snake we saw in the water was...Nunna and I declined! Ugh.

It's a Jungle Out There

Hello friends!

I am busy planning for Anderson's birthday party. Yes, I realize that it is more than 2 months away...I just like to be prepared! He will be 3. Can you believe it? 3!!! We are having a jungle animals theme, since A loves animals so much! The invitations are already made and here. I have my friend Hillary over at Mint Julep working on his birthday shirt. Check her out...she's so amazing with a sewing machine!

His cake is being made by my good friend Laura. It's gonna look a lot like this. I know, he's just 3, but I love fancy cakes!

Now, I'm just struggling with decorations(well there won't be too many, cause it's outside) and the goody bags for the children who attend. Also, I was thinking back to when we were kids and there was a man who used to go from mall to mall with a baby lion cub and take pictures with the kids holding it. Do ya'll remember that, or am I just totally crazy? I would LOVE to find something like that, although, I realize it's not real politically correct.

Do you have any ideas or links for me? Come on...help me out!! ;)

Glorious Sunshine and V-day

Hello friends!

Sunday was a glorious day here! It was in the 70's, much like it is today. And after church, we ventured over to the Ft. Worth Zoo for some animal watching and some sunshine.Glad I got to spend the day with my two favorite boys in the whole wide world!Hope you had a great Valentine's Day! We received not one, but 3 packages yesterday from all of the grandparents! Anderson RAN out to meet the mailman! He is in hog heaven, because he received some more small animals to play with and corral. Thank you Nunna, Gami and Mimi! We loved our Valentine's Day surprises!!!

Adam and I are doing really well on Weight Watchers. I have no idea how much, if any weight that I have lost, but I am feeling more healthy, just by changing the way we cook. I have found this website and love to use it for her fast food points on Weight Watchers and this website for delicious low point meals at home!

Working on valentines, book store and more beach dreamin'

Hello friends!
Anderson and I headed to the mall today. We had a great time in the bookstorf(as he calls it)but they evacuated us when we walked into the mall. The fire alarm was going off, so everyone had to leave and Anderson was very upset. So we headed to our favorite Chick-fil-A to play a little bit!

When we came home we worked on some valentine cards to send out to the grandparents.I've been thinking about all of the memories I had as a child,teenager and adult of the beach and am dying to go back soon!
I can't wait for A to experience the beach like Adam and I have all of our lives. There is so much he needs to learn about in Panama City Beach:

1. Thomas Doughnuts--yes you have to go very early and stand in a 30 minute line to get some of these little babies, but these are the best doughnuts in Laguna Beach...NO the WORLD!! Adam says there shrimp box is awesome too, although I love the cheeseburgers for lunch! ;)

2. The Carousel Grocery Store- our beach house is right in between both of these PCB landmarks(Thomas' Doughnuts and the Carousel) and I can remember going to both of them as a tiny child. This is just a grocery store, but it feels like an old friend to me.Not to mention that I love the crappy gift shop they have with tacky shell wind chimes!

3.The beach itself-Laguna Beach, Florida You cannot find beaches as white as these anywhere in the world. I can't wait for Anderson to swim in the ocean again! This is my most favorite place in the world(outside of Disney World).The ocean water is warm, even in April!

4. Miracle Strip-I am aware that they tore it down a couple of years ago, in fact Adam and I went the last night it was ever open. It was so sad. My family used to drop my friends and me off at Miracle Strip and we would have a ball! Even when we became teenagers and could actually drive, sometimes we would go just to ride the rides at Miracle Strip. The swings were my favorite. Riding on the swings at Miracle Strip, you would swing out over the strip traffic and could even see the ocean from them.The beach will never be the same since they tore Miracle Strip down!!! I don't care how pretty or how cool the Miracle Strip Resort is(if they've even built anything there at all-last time we were there, they hadn't yet),it will never replace this family fun place!

5. The Public Pier-but only at night. We have gone so much when they are night-fishing and they are catching cool things like sharks, stingrays...etc. This is a great bargain for $1.00
Oh the memories!!! I'm ready to be back in the Gulf of Mexico!

Beach Dreaming and a happy birthday

We have had snow again today...UGH! Not much, just mostly ice, which is way more fun for you to drive in. I'm so ready for Spring to get here along with it's warmer weather and blooms on our trees. And I'm sooo ready for the yard to look like this again!I'm so ready to go to Panama City Beach in April!!!!!

Monday Randomness

Hello friends!

Anderson is feeling much better. I guess the antibiotic was just what he needed. It was really scary everyday for him to have high fevers. We haven't done too much today. We got out and went grocery shopping at Wal-Mart. I always tell A, "if you are sweet while I'm shopping, we'll go see the fish" and he was, and we went and checked them out and as always they had "sleeping fish". They really need to work on cleaning their fish tanks out, so Anderson doesn't figure out one day that they really aren't sleeping! Ha!

Adam and I have started Weight Watchers and we shall see how it goes. I keep telling myself I won't lose weight until after we have another baby, but I'll just be bigger...so why not lose it now? I'm going to try really hard!

Adam has told me that he thinks A is too old to be wearing john-johns all the time now and that makes me sad. Side note: did you know the reason they call them john-john's is because John F. Kennedy Jr. used to wear them as a little boy?I guess, I think he looks old in his big boy jeans and shirts. So, I think to compensate I am going to let him wear regular ole' boy shorts and have those precious applique shirts made for him to go with everything and maybe john-john's for church?! And I can't believe Anderson will 3 in April. Where in the world did the time go?!!

Crippled with snow!

Hello friends!
We have been hammered with snow! And now, our area DFW is crippled with snow and ice left over from Tuesday's ice storm. Annabelle is our little snow dog, she loves the snow!Gus was happy to be inside and warm!We were bad parents and took Anderson into the snow(when he's sick, well actually he's been fever FREE today...YIPPEEE!!!) but it was pretty hard to resist. Our little angel, making a snow angel! ;)OOPS!!Mom, I promise you that he was bundled in two layers of clothes and hopefully won't get more sick!

Sick Boy and what we've been up to

Hello friends

I hate to say it but Anderson has pneumonia and is on an antibiotic. He has been having fevers for 8 days now(with the exception of Sunday) and some of his fevers have been like 104.3...which scares the hell out of me(sorry, I had to say it) but it just does.

Would you please say a prayer for Anderson to get well soon?

Tundra

Hello friends!

In Texas, we are frozen solid! It started sleeting this morning around 4 a.m. and it woke me up it was hitting the window so hard. It looks like a pitiful snow, but it's ice and it's very slippery... worse than snow in my book. Now, the temperature has dropped(we are sitting at 15 degree...with a windchill of -1) and are truly iced in! Adam's work was shut down today because of the treacherous commute. I know some of you are laughing, because we are still in the positive numbers, but this is REALLY cold to us and I'm not used to driving on the ice! ;) Lots of folks from Pittsburgh and Green Bay are here for the Super Bowl on Sunday, they are probably feeling like they are still at home.

Anderson is still sick with a fever and the doctor was even closed today due to the iced roads. He's had a fever for a week now! I hate it so bad for him! There is nothing worse than a sick baby. :(

What are we doing to keep from going stir crazy? We are playing with Anderson's V Reader.Have you seen these? It is an electronic book for kiddos(think Kindle, but with color pages and touch screen animation).If your kids are aged 3-7 they will LOVE this. Adam's parents got this for A and he really likes it a lot. It runs about $60 but it has dozens of stories you can buy to go along with it. Awesome for keeping busy kiddos at bay in restaurants.

Also, the Highlights, High Five magazine for ages 2-6.This keeps A busy for a while too PLUS it has crafts for us to do together in the magazine.
