Chrismas Day

Hello friends!

Anderson had a great Christmas! (looking what Santa had put in his stocking;)Santa came and brought him this sweet horsie! Adam and I both had one of these when we were little. I can remember riding my spring horse for hours on end!!

A also got some Zhu Zhu pets and an airplane from Nunna. The Zhu Zhu airplane is the funniest thing ever. I think Adam likes it WAY more than A does! Ha!And of course, his favorite...little animals. I swear this boy, is gonna be a veterinarian!We didn't do anything at all Christmas Day but be lazy. Adam cooked turkey and I had frozen some dressing from Thanksgiving, so we had a yummy Christmas dinner! To top the night off, we went by Sonic for a milk shade (what A calls it) and drove around looking at Christmas lights!

Christmas Eve

Hello friends!

We have had a WONDERFUL Christmas! No snow like last year, but at least it's been really cold and that's nice.We have started a tradition of going to church on Christmas Eve and we LOVE it! This year, I took lots of little animals and even a manger scene with baby Jesus. Well...somehow the manger got lost in the church and we recovered it when a lady found it! Ha! We weren't sure how Anderson would do in church with us. But, when the music started he kept saying very loudly "dance with the band" and later when the preacher was talking "church is over" also SUPER loud! Nice....needless to say Adam and I took turns in the foyer of the church with A. :)

We went over to our neighbor's house Clara and Clemente. (all the kids with the grandparents)And then our friends Casey and Justin came over and the kids got BUCK WILD!I love these girls...Casey, Clara and meThe guys...Adam, Clemente and JustinAfter a reading of "The Night Before Christmas"...A didn't go to sleep until 11!Guess who ate the reindeer food we left for Rudolph and the others??!!Santa came!See you tomorrow with Christmas Day!

2 days until Christmas!

We have been cleaning today. This picture makes me LAUGH! I have never seen a child run to clean the toilet. But when Anderson saw me with the scrub brush out, he just got giddy. :)Wanted to share with you this beautiful Christmas light show/ house in Utah...Click HERE to watch it. Anderson wants me to dance when we hear this song. It was his favorite song as a little baby. The ONLY thing that could quiet his crying. He loves The Chordettes!

Tomorrow night, we will go to the Christmas Eve service at church. It's always beautiful and interesting with A sitting with us. Last year, he saw the little lamb on the stained glass window and kept baa-ing...

Sleigh Ride!

Hello friends!!

We are taking it easy today. Anderson is a little under the weather, with a fever. And we've stayed in our jammies all day(with the exception of getting dressed for our grocery store trip). I didn't think kids started fighting with you about what to wear until MUCH later. But, lately A has been wanting to wear jammies or sweatpants all the time. Ugh....really?! I know...I know I get it. They are comfortable! I do it all the time too! :)

Saturday night, we went on a carriage ride through Highland Park in Dallas. Sorry, the pictures aren't that fabulous.It's hard to take pictures from a moving carriage! Anderson ADORES horses and so he really loved the fact that a horse was pulling our carriage!Our sweet neighbors invited us to go. My friend Casey and me Let me tell you that these were some of the most beautiful houses I've ever seen. The houses range in price from $500,00 for a 3 bedroom CONDO to 10 million dollars.

I promptly picked out this house and thought it looked a lot like the Father of the Bride house that I LOVE so much! And you know what? It was FOR SALE!! Apparently, I must have good taste, because the house is listed for 6.2 million dollars!! Click here to see the inside of the house, I swear you have never seen anything MORE UGLY in your life. Did Louis XIV design it? Yuck!The kids had such a fun time and shouted "Merry Christmas" out to anybody who moved on the street. Ha!! Sadly, we didn't see George W. Bush's house. But we did get to see Jere Jones house. He is the owner of the Dallas Cowboys. I couldn't get a picture of it, there was HUGE wall surrounding it and it took up an entire city block!

If you just believe

Hello friends!

Can I just tell you how wonderful the Polar Express was? It was really cool and felt authentic. Anderson really thought we were going to the North Pole. I even cried when the Josh Groban song came on "If you just believe". So sappy, I know! I don't know what's wrong with me. But, I remember thinking "I love our little family so much"!!Too bad Santa only breezed through and we couldn't get a good picture of him(he was practically running though our train car;) But, it made A so happy to see him and that was all we cared about. Mrs. Claus on the other hand happily agreed to a picture. Anderson was being so SHY and was closing his eyes!!But the REAL show stopper was.....the $5 petting zoo across the street! Anderson spotted it(well I pointed it out, but who's counting). The whole time we were waiting on the train to get there, he kept begging to go see the animals. Ha!That was definitely the crowning jewel on a wonderful night!

9 days til' Christmas...

Hello friends!

It's only 9 days until Christmas and I'm excited! Last year at this time, I felt like we were having Christmas all alone in a new and foreign place.Now, I feel like we are having Christmas at home. What a difference a year can make!Some random facts for your near Christmas, Thursday:

1. I'm about to go POSTAL on Vistaprint! I ordered our Christmas cards on December 3 and they are sitting at a FedEx(according to the tracking number) and have been since December 9!!!

2. Like I said yesterday, we are going here on Friday night for Anderson to ride the Polar Express with Santa! I am so excited for us to take him in his Christmas jammies and to see Santa! If you are in Alabama/Florida, my sister in law and bil took their little boy to Cullman to ride the Polar Express there.

3. Saturday, we are taking A to ride a night carriage ride through North Park a RITZY neighborhood in Dallas. We are supposed to be going right by George W. Bush's house. Maybe I'll knock on the door and ask to use the bathroom....yea right!

4. A Charlie Brown Christmas comes on tonight on CBS--Woo-Hoo!!!

Christmas Circle City Day 3

Hello friends!

We've been hanging out with our neighbor Clara and her 2 year old daughter, Becca today. We checked out our newly opened Salvation Army and I found a Dept. 56 North Pole Series house for Mom. It was 50% off...so I scored it for $10! They normally cost about $50-60. Okay, okay I digress... now back to document our Christmas trip to Alabama.Adam and A sword fighting. Adam TOTALLY has an unfair advantage...2 swords really?!Anderson and Nunna reading a bedtime story after the family left, last Thursday night. I LOVE these Christmas jammies. I bought them at Target. We are doing the Polar Express train ride Friday night in Grapevine, so they will come in handy.
Friday morning when we woke up we pretended it was Christmas morning and unwrapped all the presents from my Mom and Bob. Out of ALL the presents, Anderson liked these $3 little animals the best and would not pay attention to anything else! That figures...Alabama Snuggie found in Walgreens= BEST PRESENT EVER! He's so possessive over "his" blanket. :)
We then got dressed and went to visit Adam's grandmother, Nanny! Anderson rearranged her nativity scene in about 30 seconds. Yep....he's quick like that.

We had lunch with Adam's great aunt Juke and her husband Carlos at Nip and Ernie's(if you are in Dothan)...it was so good. Have you tried it?
After lunch, we head to my Daddy and Mimi's house and hung out with them the rest of the day. Anderson LOVES my Daddy, he follows him around saying "Poppy, Poppy":)Me, Mimi and Jana(my sister)Papa Ivey(my Daddy's father). He is 93 and was in WWII in the Pacific. This is my Grandmomma Key. She is Mimi, my stepmother's mom. She has NEVER made me feel like I wasn't her "real" granddaughter. I love that about her! Cool side story about her: when she had Mimi, my grandfather was serving in WWII and didn't get to meet his daughter until she was 3!
