Rainy day and the library

Anderson and I have discovered this little jewel.

That's right the public library, who knew they offered free services such as watching fish in the fish tank (and turtles too), giddy marathon running for little boys(and momma's chasing after them), free books for 3 weeks and a free video to boot! Too cool, public library,too cool!!

Anderson and I decided to go the the library today and get some new books. Since he loves to look at books and I enjoy reading them to him. This was an awesome place to come on rainy days, like we had today! Anderson enjoyed it so much and I did too!!

After all of our literary critiquing, we settled down for a nap. I say we, because I fell asleep too....for 3 hours! OOPS!!!

And sticking to my menu for this week, I made country fried steak, butter beans and mashed potatoes(home made)

Anderson enjoyed playing in them.....

We finished off our rainy Wednesday with a bath!(yes, that is dog shampoo behind Anderson, I promise we wash out the bathtub real well before we bathe him in here)We're off to Dothan tomorrow, we are getting ready for the blitz of grandparents uh, I mean...fun with grandparents!!

Menu Monday

Menu Monday- will be a new feature on my blog. I'm trying to become more of a domestic goddess with cooking ;) and like to organize my thoughts at the same time.-Ha! You can click on the name of the meal and I will have it linked to the recipe it came from.

Monday- we had homemade chicken noodle soup

Tuesday-ham,cheese and spinach strada

Wednesday- country fried steak with mashed potatoes and butter beans (no link, just home cooking)

Thursday- in Dothan

Friday- Eat out :)

Saturday- chicken and cheese enchiladas with white queso dip

Anderson and I will be in Dothan on Thursday and Friday. My step-sister, Jana, is getting married on Friday. It will be a quick garden wedding and Anderson and I will attend. Our schedule is always so BUSY when in Dothan...whew I get super tired thinking about it!

HOT Mama and HOT Dada

I have been trying to be more of a traditional stay at home mom, who cleans(well, I've always loved to clean), and cooked(which I've NEVER loved to do). Darby has some really great recipes on her blog and I decided to try this one. It was SO FABULOUS-except I tried to add my own kick to it and bought the Spicy Szechuan stir-fry sauce.

Are you kidding me? This stuff was so "spicy"/hot that the FDA should regulate it! Seriously the label should had a warning on it, I'm not kidding. Mine and Adam's lips were burning and swallowing the food was hard, because it burned all the way down. It tasted great, but was FIERY HOT!!!

So we had to take this

and FINALLY we felt better. Adam had to sit out our usual afternoon walk out, because he really felt sick because of the hotness of the sauce- I swear it was still burning in our bellies!! Have you ever royally screwed up on a dish? Come one let's hear it? Make me feel better.:)

Anderson is 15 months today! I can't believe it! He just keeps getting taller and bigger and I want to holler "S L O W D O W N" !!!

Beckham ain't got nothing on us...

For a 15 months old, I am quite surprised that Anderson is as good at kicking the ball as he is! I think there is Olympic gold in his future. He can actually kick the ball while walking. It's pretty cool. I'm pretty sure that if you asked David Beckham's mom if he was this good at this age, she would tell you no. :) But thinking back, Adam was a great soccer player, my dad coached high school soccer and I was an all-star(once I scored a goal for the other team and didn't know it). So, I'm pretty sure that it's in the genes...



And... since our house is for sale stay tuned for a home tour later!

We're moving to the Big D!!!!

Friends, we are MOVING!!!! Adam got a transfer and we are moving here!!! We are excited and nervous at the same time. There is so much to do before time to go. We have to sell our house, pack up the house and move 12 hours away from Alabama. The first year, we are going to rent either an apartment or a house. Because it's silly to buy a house, where you know nothing about the city. Does anybody know anything at all about Dallas, TX and the real estate market let me know or if you just know anything about Dallas in general. When I think of Dallas, I think of the television show. You know, the one that was on in the 80's with J.R. Probably the whole trip out there I'll be singing the theme song in my head.-Ha!

Another side note....I get to stay at home with Anderson!!! This is something that I've always wanted ever since I saw this baby boy! I can't believe that it is actually happening!! But I will need to find some kind of job that I can do from home to make around $500 dollars per month, just to keep some change in our pockets. Do you have any ideas for me?

We have been readying the house. Painting, cleaning etc...and hope it sells fast!!! We're gonna try and sell it by owner. What are your tips on selling a home? Have you ever done this? Please let me know.

We are going to miss our friends and family so much, but you always have a place to stay when you're in Dallas! So come see us!!

Oh where oh where have we been...

Hello friends! Did you think we had just dropped off the face of the earth? We've been having fun each and everyday and I've been too busy to blog. But, I'm back! We just got back from the weekend at the beach for the 4th of July. It was fun, except for poor Anderson was so grumpy because he had been sick for the entire week. He had something called roseolo infantum? Not fun, let me tell you. Our sweet baby did not feel good at all!! But, the good news is that he feels much better now and is back to his old self again!!
This morning, Anderson, the puppies and I went to the Shakespeare Festival Park to walk as we normally do. But this time was different, we took bread for the ducks! The ducks loved it, but Anderson and I loved it even more! I was showing Anderson how to throw bread to the ducks and he ate it instead!Ha!
Then all of a sudden I heard a splash and Annabelle(oldest beagle) had fallen in the pond! I was so mad at her, because I had already told her not to get too close to the edge!!! Oh well, at least the other walkers got a good laugh.

Don't you love hide and seek? Anderson does...here he is hiding and the popping out! We call our game "Where's Anderson"
Anderson's favorite word is "owl". Don't ask me why? So now everything is owl. Dogs, cats, etc.. are now referred to as "owl".
