Good Life

Hello friends!

We have had lots and lots of rain today and yesterday. But before the rains set in, Anderson and I took a trip to the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens. There wasn't much blooming, but a good place to burn off energy and enjoy the fresh air.This included lots of running, spotting birds and chasing squirrels .... poor squirrels! Ha!

Whisper tubes. You can talk in one end and walk 100 feet down the boardwalk and hear the other person....cool!

My inner hippie wasn't happy to see this. A beautiful new parking lot for the convention center....yuck. I know there has to be progress, but I don't have to like it. Anderson told the man cutting down the tree "you are not being nice"!!! Hahaha!!

The flowers seemed confused. It's been so warm here this winter. We haven't even had any snow!

Sitting by the pond and spotting the turtles sunning. Love this boy so much! Can't believe he will be 4 in just a few months....tears!

Ft. Worth Stock Show

Hello friends!

We have been in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth metroplex for a little over 2 years and this is was our very first trip to the Ft. Worth Stock Show. Anderson was TOTALLY excited and this was the "most funnest place ever" according to him.We thought they would have barns of cows, pigs, sheep and goats...boy were we wrong!! They also had a fair a little smaller than the Peanut Festival( for all you Dothanites). They had some neat-o rides! They had a kids petting zoo, and the llama obliged nicely when asked would he say "cheese".Some funny things Anderson said from today...cause I will forget. He asked "Momma, why is everybody dressed like a cowboy" and he later told the cows "stop your mooing cows". This kiddo cracks me up!

I swear he will be in FFA(Future Farmers of America) when he's in high school....I can just see it now. He is in LOVE with animals!!

A few of the millions of animals we saw today. I saw several sheep dressed like this and wondered, was there a secret meeting of the KKK tonight. But apparently, if you want to keep a sheep clean before a show...this is how you do it. This was the cow check-in. Anderson could have sat and watched this all day long! A cow actually got loose from the girl and ran...pretty eventful in the stock world!These poor sheep was getting sheered. He kept "baa-ing" and Anderson kept saying "momma, let him go"...I seriously thought about it. ;)These are Brahaman cows with the humps on their backs. We also wanted to go to the Rodeo tonight (cause I think A would totally freak out if we took him) but it's SO expensive! There's always next year!

Books and Dominoes

Hello friends!

Lately, we have been playing dominoes with our next door neighbor, Joann. The game we are playing is called Mexican Train and you have GOT to try it...it's really fun! Adam and I are buying the set soon. Anderson and I headed to the library yesterday and picked up a few books. These are some great books. A's favorite is "A Sick Day for Amos McGee"...awesome pictures in it! And of course Anderson's new favorite "Curious George" I think we've almost checked out every one of these books. I loved how this kiddo loves reading...I hope he's always like that! Hey-whatever gets him into Harvard, right?!! :)And I just wanted to document that, yes, Anderson is still obsessed with animals. On this particular day, the horses were doing a "congo line". LOVE this kiddo!

Happy Birthday Adam!

Hello friends!

Last Tuesday, we celebrated Adam's 34th birthday. He already had an early birthday present...Alabama won the National Championship!!! Roll Tide! We celebrated by eating cupcakes and barbecue that night. Adam's fav!I love this man...he's my soul! I have spent 14 birthdays with him....that seems so crazy...feels like we were just dating.He's the best dada around and this kiddo adores him! We love you so much Dada!

Anderson has really been enjoying his trampoline(especially because it's been in the 60's in January) he got for Christmas...he would stay in it 24/7 if we would let him!

Car

Hello friends!

I promise I will be back soon, but we got a new car!!! Wanted to share pictures with the grandparents. It's a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe and WE LOVE IT!!

Since, I'm using my blog right now to show my parents things...Mom, these are the 3 things I got at garage sales this morning. The salt box has an outline of birds on it. Can you see it?

Sassy Belle

Hello friends!

Today, Anderson and I ventured over to Ft. Worth Humane Society. We saw that they had a dachshund and when Mom saw "Sassy Belle" on the computer, she had a fit. We have always had dachshunds growing up.

It's been really hard for Mom and Bob these last two months because they lost their beloved Emma, the golden retriever to congestive heart failure. While NO DOG can ever replace Emma(EVER) they decided to give this dog a chance at a great life, like Emma had.

If you have the means, please go adopt a dog or cat at your local humane society. There were 15 people turning in dogs today while we were there. Those babies need a chance!

Thanksgiving Day

Hello friends!

So, the last time, I blogged, Mom was here. On Thanksgiving Day,we of course got up and watched The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. One day, I actually want to be there! I love New York City so much! Maybe when A is 5?! We decided not to cook this year and went to Cracker Barrell at lunch. It was actually a lot cheaper than cooking and yummy too!That night, we went to Waffle House for Thanksgiving dinner and we had the place to ourselves. But, oh the food was delicious!!! We even spent a quarter at the juke box and played Elvis' "Blue Christmas" ha!

Then we headed over to Prairie Lights, which is a Christmas City of sorts. Anderson saw Santa and told him he wanted a "bubble popper" wha???!

We had hot chocolate and A had Sunkist.They even had a carousel at the little Christmas town. Be back soon with pictures of our Christmas tour in San Antonio!
