Lately

Hello friends!
 Thank you so much for your prayers for Anderson's surgery. He got three teeth a capped and one pulled, ugh..the dentist said he had soft enamel, just like his momma. :( Isn't it amazing how you can just feel the prayers and you feel covered. I love you guys...I really do.

Lately it's been yucky over here, Anderson had his surgery on the 17th of January and then ran a 101 and above temp. for 3 days and it's just been yuck. But A is feeling much better and I'm so thankful for that and a healthy kiddo! 

Here is a hodge podge of things we've been doing.

 Lots of coloring, writing and drawing. Favorite new activity.

 Took Anderson to Ft. Worth to the Stockyards and we saw folks on horse back...only in Ft. Worth would you see this in a big city! Pretty cool...but really slowed traffic down.

Christmas in Alabama

Hello friends!
It's a little late(whoops almost February) but better late than never....but we went to Alabama to spend after Christmas with our family. It was a really nice time and Anderson was LOVING getting all the presents. Every house we would visit, he would ask them(despite our pleas for him not to) "do you have a present for me"? Ahhhhh....oh well, he's 4 right?

On the 13.5 hour trip to Alabama we have to do lots of entertaining. Reading books, listening to music, movies and making silly faces, taking pictures and then laughing at them. :)

 We spent our first after Christmas with Gami and Pappy, Adam's parents. Haha...Anderson is still making silly faces, he even got Gami into the spirit of things.

 Anderson got Furby and has been enchanted since. His batteries ran out and I'm still trying to "find" just the right ones ;)

 Next, we went to my Mom's house and spent Christmas over there. This is Sydney, Bob's granddaughter and mom swinging her.

 Seriously, I know I've said it before, but I love my mom's and Bob's house. It's my childhood home, but it's just very tranquil to me. Anderson loves her garden and always finds excuses to get outside in her yard. Can you see Woodrow in the background, he and Gussie love it so much too. Oh the wonderful smells the chipmunks in her yard!

 Anderson's favorite, Nunna's cumquat tree. He loves to pick these, but does not like the taste of them...go figure.

 Mom, Adam and I took Anderson and Sydney to good ole' Adventure Land and they had such a great time.

 We went to my Daddy's house for Christmas. These are Anderson's cousins Elizabeth and James. They were doing Anderson's impersonation of a reindeer, but he forgot to do it.

 My sister, Jana and me-love her and wished we lived closer!

 On the way back to Texas. We stopped at the rest stop in Mississippi, this is the mighty Mississippi River. Pretty cool, huh.

Papa

January 9, 2013 my Papa passed into Heaven and gets to spend eternity with God and "Mama"(my grandmother) his wife of 61 years. He was born July 9, 1918 in Graceville to Richard Clarence and Emma Williams Ivey. He retired from the Army as a 1st Sargent.That is all for my memory in years to come.

To me Papa was loving, good and a very kind man. He "put up" with my grandmother who was the love of his life and a lot like me. He would take me to the coffee shop in Graceville and buy me ring pops and cherry cokes for a nickel. He would take me to the bank and show me off to the ladies who worked there. He built me a swing in the biggest pecan tree in his yard. He would always drink his "medicine"(which was beer) every day around 3 p.m. and for years, I truly thought it was his medicine. ;) He would tell me that I could sing so good that I sounded like Whitney Houston when I was 6. He always wore chapstick with the black label on it. I wear it daily and when I smell it, I think of him. He would always tell me to "be ticular now"(particular) when meeting people and don't trust everyone you meet.

Going to miss him so much. Thank you Pop for the wonderful childhood memories. See you later and "be ticular"!

Surgery

 

Could you please say a little prayer tonight for Anderson? He is having 4 of his teeth crowned tomorrow and has to have general anesthesia. Ugh...I'm nervous. Thank you!

Christmas 2012

Hello friends! We had a nice Christmas at home in Texas. It snowed Christmas Day night and that was beautiful! Poor Anderson was sick with RSV and an ear infection and couldn't go out into the snow and really didn't feel like it either. We did get to go with our friends to IHOP for Christmas Day lunch and then to see "Monsters Inc".

Thankfully, Anderson felt good Christmas morning when he woke up. He was so excited to see what Santa had brought him for Christmas! He kept saying " I hope I'm on the good list" haha!!

The dune buggy has been in our living room since Christmas morning and A keeps driving it forwards and backwards...he's gonna wear a hole in the carpet!
