The Circle City and the Beach

Hello friends!

In April, we took a trip to Alabama and Florida.  Anderson turned 4 on April 22 and we had his birthday party at Mom's house once again. It is always so nice to head back to the real South. Texas is nice, but Alabama will always be home. We enjoy seeing all of our family and so does Anderson.

We spent some time at Gami and Pappy's house

Anderson got to spend some time with his cousins. I love this, because I think that family is very important...especially cousins, they are your life long friends.

We also spent some time with my Daddy and Mimi. I love this picture of Daddy and Anderson swinging.....so sweet!

We stayed some time at Mom's house. It's where I grew up. It's where I feel at most like myself. Really loved that Anderson got to help Mom in the yard and swing on a real tire swing. 

Being in Dothan made Gus happy too!

We then headed down to Panama City Beach, FL to (as Anderson would say) Papa Ivey's Old Beach House. I truly think of the beach as my second home and hope that one day we will live close enough so Anderson can experience that feeling too. 

Of course our first stop in town was Thomas Doughnuts :)

Finally we took Anderson to Miracle Strip at Pier Park. It makes me sad that the old Miracle Strip that we grew up with is not there. But hopefully, they will get more rides at Pier Park.

Annabelle

Last night our sweet Annabelle went to heaven. She was our first baby. We had her over 9 years( she would have been 10 in August). I remember thinking the first night we brought her home..."what have we gotten into". Little did I know she would be our pride and joy. What a sweet girl and what a wonderful life she had.



Some of the things I remember about my girl:

-She tore up our marriage certificate when she was a puppy.
-She loved riding in the car
-She slept with us until Anderson was born
-She picked up a big box turtle in my mom's yard and didn't want to let go of her prize.
-Rolling in mom's wandering jew plant and getting rashes on her tummy..numerous times!
-She stayed in our guest bedroom and looked out the window all day and would bark anytime she saw a dog walking.
-Begging multiple times daily for cookies
-Snoring very loudly...now the house is too quiet :(
-Always giving me kisses when I asked her for them.

You were the best girl, Annabelle and we are heartbroken for us, but happy that you are in heaven. We love you, pretty girl.

I hope that God has an endless supply of cookies...if so she will be one happy girl!

Nine years ago, I married the man who hung the moon. He is the love of my life.

Everyday, I look at my life and say "can it get any better than this"? And the truth is, it can't.

I'm in love with my husband, my child and my life! Thank you GOD! We are truly blessed :)

A birthday, my bracelet and stockpiling

Hello friends!

This weekend we had Jaycie's birthday to attend. Jaycie is Anderson's friend from across the street, she turned 8. Anderson had a great time at the party. A always loves cake!It was awesome, good old fashioned fun: scavenger hunt, musical chairs, pinata and pin the tail on the donkey! A wasn't crazy about the blind fold over his eyes during this game. He kept saying " I can't see". *************************************************
Yesterday at church, Anderson made me the MOST beautiful bracelet ever! I love it!! His teachers spelled out his name and he picked out the beads. He wants me to wear it all the time( I promised I would and I will, I love it so much cause he made it)he even wants me to wear it to bed with my jammies. This picture is for you Nunna. He said "cheese Nunna" We are supposed to have bad weather tonight(some possible tornadoes)which I am deathly afraid of(isn't everybody?)..could you please say a prayer for our area? Anderson has been busy stockpiling all the lotion, soap and even toenail clippers into the bathtub..Ha!!!

Garage Sales

Hello friends!

Do you go to garage sales? If you don't you really, really should. Anderson and I try and go every Saturday morning. He loves going just as much as I do. He always comes back with some little animal prize he's found for a quarter or 2.

Today, we got this cherry wood, hand needlepoint chair(that was done by the man's grandmother) for $2...don't ask me why he was selling it and for $2...crazy!We also got this cool Japanese looking box from the same man. Although he said he thought his dad brought it back from Korea after the War, but $2 and I just couldn't part with it!Got this for you, mom!I also scored from the same house these vintage mickey mouse tin games from Disneyland in 1968(the lady told me she went and got them when she was 6). I found them listed on ebay for $65-95!! Hmmm....gonna have to try and sell those!This is my handsome partner in crime that accompanies me to the sales(after our weekly stop at the donuts store). Side note: Pappy keep saving that spare change! It comes in handy for things like 25 cent horses :)He never leaves empty handed either. People think he's a cutie pie so they end up giving him things for free! ha!

And....We're Back

Hello friends!

I have no excuse my absence, just life keeps getting in the way. But, I really like being able to look back on all I have blogged about and one day print it into a blog book for Anderson to have.

We have done lots in the last month since I blogged. Adam's parents were here and we had a great time with them...Sea Life Aquarium at a mall(crazy..huh?) And the twirlie car on the carousel..oh my!Adam and I even got to go on 2 dates. Once to the movies and then to the Dallas Mavericks vs. Boston Celtics NBA game. It was really awesome and Adam loved it and so did I!

If I'm being honest, I was excited at first about Khloe Kardashian being at the Mavs game because her husband Lamar Odom now plays for them. I had all these grandiose visions of meeting her and getting my picture made...never happened. But, truthfully, I loved watching the actual basketball game itself. It was, well exciting!

Anderson and I (as you are well aware) love frequenting the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens. It's free and beautiful and gives A some space to run and be a boy.****************************
Anderson's friend Becca comes over a lot and hangs out with us..they are good friends! They love playing together.

Random picture of the week this big boy loves to read while on the potty! Ha! I hope he always loves to read. And last, I had to take a picture of Anderson and SOME of his animals(this is no where near half of the collection ) don'tcha love the fake smile! I love this kid so much!!!
