Story Time...Scmory Time

Hello friends!I really don't know we are ever going to get Anderson to sit still in kindergarten. We tried story time again today and it was a FAILED attempt. Although pretty funny, but I'm pretty sure I'm the ONLY one who thought that ;) They were reading some story about a monkey and it was completely too old for him(the literature) and the brought out these stuffed monkey. Anderson said "monkey, hold him"? And I said "no bud" then he said "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" kinda loud-ish! Who am I kidding super loud-ish! I escorted him out to the bench in the hall and the whole time we are walking out, he saying "momma, I sorry" then I felt terrible, like these people probably think I beat him. I can count the times that I have spanked him on one hand.
We invited our friends/neighbors Casey and her kids and Clara and her kiddos. After story time, we hung out in the library for an hour and a half. It's amazing, how much fun you can have in a library for free! (Casey and Anderson reading;) The kids had fun and so did us girls!

And cause I'm feeling kinda teacher-y today, here's some homework for you or maybe you already know. Who started the first library in the U.S.?? Do you know??

Hot day at the zoo and Happy Birthday!

Hello friends!

I had the smart idea to take Anderson to the Ft. Worth Zoo this morning! Smart....maybe not. It wasn't too bad when we got there at 10a.m., but when we left at 12, it was already 101 degrees! Seriously, it wasn't too terrible. A loved it, as usual. We almost had the whole zoo to ourselves...because nobody else was crazy enough to get out in that heat!! :)

But, all of the animals were very interested in us, probably because they had no attention at all. If I would have remembered my camera we would have had some cool pictures. Oh well..you've seen a dozen pictures of our trips to the zoo.

Happy Birthday to my FIL, Mike(aka Pappy)!! We hope you have a
wonderful birthday!! Everybody likes to say Anderson looks a lot like Adam. But who he really looks a lot like is Pappy!

A Wiggly Night

Hello friends!
Friday night, we took Anderson to see The Wiggles. If you haven't heard of them and you have younger kids, you've been living in a cave for the last 10 years :)Anderson has LOVED The Wiggles ever since he has been 6 months old. We had GREAT seats! Only about 12 rows back, front and center. We wondered how A would do, but he was THRILLED when they came out on stage and he knew exactly who they were and was pure giddy with excitement!! This picture of Anthony(the blue wiggle) is for my mom...he's her fav!! ;)
The Wiggles came through the crowd . He was dressed up for the song, Fruit Salad...Yummy Yummy! But, instead kinda looks like Elton John in his younger days! Ha!and collected roses that the children had brought for Dorothy the Dinosaur to eat and Jeff(aka the purple Wiggle) gave Anderson a high five!! He was SO SUPER HAPPY!! And so was I! Ha!

They put on the BEST show I've ever seen! They were pretty entertaining even to us adults. And the funniest part was that all the moms and dads were singing along to the songs...we have to hear them enough!!Anderson's favorite part of the concert was when he got to dance in the aisles! He put on the best show!

In fact, we got him a t-shirt that says "The Fifth Wiggle"!!

We are SO glad that we took A, he had the time of his life and so did we!! Who knew five years ago that we would be having this much fun at the Wiggles concert on a Friday night! :)

Dinosaur!

Hello friends!
Anderson has been feeling pretty good since his tubes were put in and his adenoids were taken out. He's been waking up very early in the mornings and chattering away...sweet. But, not when he's lying next to you and it's 3:30a.m. :)
Since A had surgery, he was showered with gifts. Almost like Christmas. Gami and Pappy sent some big and small dinosaurs and our sweet neighbor Casey and her kids gave Anderson two great books! Thank you guys so much!! Lately, Anderson has become OBSESSED with dinosaurs! Like he notices ANYTHING that has dinosaurs on it. I think his obsession started here at Downtown Disney and the restaurant called T-Rex. It's the same company that does Rainforest Cafe and Anderson just LOVED all of these animatronic dinosaurs!! We could hardly could sit down to eat, because he kept wanting to "look at stuff". It was like eating in a museum!! He also loves the show on PBS called Dinosaur Train. Have you ever heard of it? It's really informative and holds his attention. So, he settles down in front of the t.v. to watch it with dino reference book in hand. Ha! Seriously...it's pretty hard to keep up with all the names of dinosaurs, but Adam and I have gotten pretty good! This really helps, click here. Because, let's just face it, some of the pronunciations are just plain, ole, hard!! But, Anderson can remember more of the names than we can. Guess that's a perk of having a 2 year old brain :)

Hello friends! Can I just tell you that we felt SO covered by your prayers for Anderson's surgery? It went so smoothly. They took him back, gave him a little medicine and he was a little loopy and he went to surgery. The surgery only took 20 minutes and we were SO glad!

When Anderson woke up...he was MAD AS A HORNET!!! And, I would have been too! He had no idea where he was! Let's just say that he hit me enough to last a lifetime! ;)

He only let me cuddle him for about 45 minutes. And then he was up and running around and playing! So glad he's feeling back to his old self again!

Again, thank you for the all the prayers! As we were waiting during Anderson's surgery, I just kept praying for Anderson and all the sick children in the world and their parents.

Thank you God SO MUCH for a healthy boy, we are so very blessed!

I wanted to share this video with you. This is the way Anderson is acting today. He was watching "It's a Small World" his very favorite!! He is giddy with excitement!

Free Entertainment on a Saturday

Hello friends! It's been so HOT here and I know wherever you are, it's been hot too! I have started thinking about Fall already and am so ready to feel some cool weather. Saturday, we had nothing to do and it was 106 degrees outside. We wanted to find something inside, and cheap...possibly free to do.We thought of Cabela's. It's just like Bass Pro Shop(if you've been there) but maybe a bit larger.

Please DO NOT mistake me for a hunter. I'm no Sarah Palin. Ha! But, they do have neat-o animal displays and A doesn't care if they aren't alive. He just LOVES them!

They have several sections of animals. The one that is the neatest is the African animals display( I really hope this elephant wasn't at one time alive...that would be so sad for somebody to have hunted him). A just stands there in awe of all of these animals in one place!!In most pictures, I couldn't even get Anderson to stand still. He was that excited!! We got away from Cabela's only spending $8.00 for some little plastic animals that Anderson found! Yippeee!

Anderson is having tubes put in his ears and his adenoids taken out tomorrow and I have SO nervous about the anesthesia. Will you please say a prayer for Anderson to do well in surgery tomorrow and for the doctor to have a clear mind and steady hands? Thank you! :)
