Happy Father's Day

THE TWO LOVES OF MY LIFE!!

Anderson and I want to wish Adam a Happy Father's Day! He was so nervous about becoming a father, but oh, he has taken the role to new heights. He LOVES this boy! Adam is such a good father! He is so patient and does not loose his temper. He takes good care of Anderson and me making sure that we are loved and laughing a lot of the time. He and Anderson hang out on Saturday mornings while I sleep. They are two peas in a pod! Anderson is so blessed to have you as a daddy and I am blessed to have you as a husband!

We LOVE YOU Daddy!!and MOST IMPORTANTLY, he gets sand out of my mouth!

Nunna(she wanted to be called Nana, but Anderson came up with his own name for her) came today and Anderson got to drink sweet tea(of course I didn't approve of this ) Guess that is what happens when your grandparents visit. Anderson didn't go to sleep until 8:30p.m. tonight...gee thanks Nunna! We were glad to see you today!

Squawky the Parrot, Big Al and Pillow Cases

We had a quick break from swimming lessons today to go see Al as in Big Al as Anderson would call the elephants at the zoo. We went with my co-worker and friend Laura and her son. When I told my mom that we were going she said"you know it's supposed to be 100 degrees tomorrow"? Oh... it felt like 100 and THEN SOME!!! You know how I love make up? Well, my make up melted right off, I kid you not! Finally we found some relief in the river otters exhibit, where they have a water fall where you can actually get in...and we did. I kept letting Anderson play in it and he loved it!
No pictures though..cause we've been to the zoo a million times...and I forgot my camera;)

Okay, Squawky the Parrot is Anderson's new nickname. Every time I rock him to sleep, the chair creaks and then Anderson makes the same noise and I end up laughing and can't get him to sleep. He does the squawk ALL.THE.TIME.!!

Anderson has a book called "Hello Big Al" about the mascot from the University of Alabama and this book is all he wants to read! He brings it to me and says "Owl" meaning Al and we read it and read it and read it again! Three times today!

I am a fanatic about antique pillow cases, I have around 12 sets that are hand stitched and I love them! I finally found someone to make me pillow cases that look like the antique ones I love so much. Thank you to Abby Maddox over at The Flossy Finch on www.etsy.com who made these for me. They are so beautiful! She does other things as well, like dresses...just go click on The Flossy Finch in the first sentence and you'll see...just so talented!

Mother of the Week Award

Haha, no, it's not me! This week I'm proud to announce that the Mother of the Week Award goes to Hillary over at The Other Mama. If you don't follow this hilarious fellow blogger mother(that kind of sounds offensive doesn't it) then what's wrong, get on the band wagon! She is so funny in all of her posts and is a great mama. She has two boys Ollie and Henry! She has been my friend since we were in the 3rd grade at Northside Methodist Academy and we used to dress up like Dolly Parton at slumber parties! I don't have any pictures yet of Anderson because I am the one holding him while in the pool during his lessons. I will get his swim instructor to take a picture soon! He's doing so well! The backstroke is his best move! Olympics 2024 LOOK OUT!!!

Quick easy summer recipe: Chicken in a pan:

Recipe for Chicken in a Pan

Needs: Cut up whole Chicken (or 3-4 breasts), olive oil, garlic, potatoes, carrots, onions and anything green you want to throw into it

Place 4 diced cloves of garlic in large frying pan containing olive oil;

Saute cut up chicken in the pan for about 5 minutes on medium-- cover and check and turn until it’s somewhat browned;

Add 1 cut up large onion, 3-4 carrots cut into coin shapes, and 4-5 potatoes cut up in large pieces and cover

Cook on low heat for about 35-40 minutes.

YUM!

Up Up and Away!

Lately around here we've been doing a lot of practicing. Practicing what you might ask? Well, this young man has been walking wonderfully and doing it more than crawling since this weekend. Today, he got even better! It is so much fun watching him learn to walk. Although scary at times, because I feel like he needs a helmet, because he falls a lot too! Adam and I laugh, because he looks like Frankenstein or a drunk man trying to walk :)


Also, Anderson starts swimming lessons tomorrow! That will be fun! Now, I don't really think that they teach these toddlers to actually "swim" but rather to kick their feet and hold their breath under water. I will be fun for him and me both.

One last picture of Anderson, this one was from the beach two weeks ago. It shows just how MUCH this baby loves water!!

I also have a prayer request, please keep my husband Adam in your prayers for tomorrow. He is having some tests run, NOTHING major, just keep him in your prayers! "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Somewhere over the rainbow...

Lately, we've been so busy around here. Running here and running there. Going on walks in the a.m. with Anderson and the doggies and swimming at the Y in the afternoons. Going to the beach, you know, fun stuff!

This week, I'm wanting to move somewhere new, exciting and different(in my mind). I am a big dreamer and always have different places for us to move to. This week it's here! I mean look at all the cool things this place has to offer, the liberty bell, Independence Hall, meeting place of the Second Continental Congress and who could forget the home to QVC! Other times I want to move here! Who could complain with all of that beauty and the fabulous weather they experience there. Sometimes, I just want to start fresh and new and have some great adventures.

How can you be mad?

I just grumbled at Adam-"I've been with Anderson all day and I'm tired and I can't get him to go to sleep". Adam went to try and get him down, but I heard him in the kitchen and this is what I found...
HOW COULD I BE MAD??!!

Today, I was folding laundry and Anderson took great interest in my panties( I promise they are clean) can you see that flash of navy, that's them... again, how could I be mad!


While taking a short break and looking at blogs, I saw this sweet babe! Be thankful every minute, it all goes too fast and that is real!

Hodge Podge

Have you ever been so close to something that you could feel it? Well, Anderson is so close to walking it's insane!! He took 5 steps today. I think that if he really focused on it, that he could do it, but he's still a little unsure about the whole process. It seems pretty difficult when you think about it, learning to walk that is. So while our summer has begun already, we are practicing, practicing, practicing and I'm still really feeling like a teacher, which is probably good for Anderson.

MOM Of The Week-Award
Have you met my friend Becky? If you haven't read her blog, go read it, she is hysterical, super crafty and a great stay at home mom of 3 who keeps it real! She has made Anderson this precious whale t-shirt! Thank you Becky!! She and I have not seen each other probably in 13 years, but we picked up right where we left off every time.

Today, my momma came to Montgomery, she wanted to spend some time with Anderson and me. We went to lunch in Cloverdale and usually I'm pretty impressed with this super-hip, chic place, but not today! Two restaurants that we have eaten at don't even have high chairs!!! This screams, "please don't bring your children here, we don't want them", which really bothers me!!!

Anyway, I digress, Mom and Anderson and I had a nice lunch at a pizza place. Then onto an antique store, where I found this beautiful oak table(which I need and love) :) but can't afford...yet-ha!

We had such a fun day with Nana!

One last question before I go. What did you think of Jon and Kate plus 8 last week? My personal opinion was that 1. she looks so different, tanned, nails, clothes, super skinny. None of these were wrong, just different, that's all and 2. I thought, before I saw the show, that it was all Jon's fault, now I'm wondering about all of it... just saying!
